Don Davis continues his award winnning pottery series by sharing with the viewer his techniques for working with large pieces of clay. His methods of joining large pieces together to form compound works is elegant yet simple.
Among the many things you will learn from this video are methods of quick and slow drying to bring your clay and thrown forms to the proper state for the joining and working of compound forms.
Don received his MFA at Rhode Island School of Design and his BFA at the University of Florida and has been a studio potter sine 1974. He conducts workshops around the U.S. and abroad. He is currently on the Art Faculty at East Tennessee State University.
